Controversial Senator representing Adamawa-North senatorial district in the National Assembly, Elisha Abbo, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Abbo’s letter of defection during the plenary session on Wednesday.
Abbo noted that the alleged mismanagement of PDP in Adamawa State led to his defection to APC.
Abbo, 41, Nigeria’s youngest senator became notorious in July 2019 when he was caught on camera physically assaulting a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja.
Senator Abbo descended on the woman after she pleaded with him not to physically assault the shop owner whom the senator had accused of insulting him. He said the shop owner called him a drunk.
