A prominent paramount ruler in Kogi State, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim, has passed away.
Palace sources revealed the monarch died in the early hours of Sunday, at the age of 95.
Our correspondent also gathered that he died in a hospital in Abuja, where he had been receiving treatment for age-related ailment.
The late Ado Ibrahim was crowned in 1997 as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land by the then-Governor of Kogi State, late Prince Abubakar Audu.

He took over from his predecessor, Alhaji Sanni Omolorim who reigned between 1957 and 1997.
Born on February 7, 1929, late Ado Ibrahim attended both western nursery and Quranic schools, and went on to conclude his primary education in 1940 at the Native Authority (NA) primary school in Okene, Northern Region (now Kogi State).
He proceeded to Ondo Boys High School for his secondary school education before moving to Oduduwa College, where he graduated in 1949.
In 1954, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School in 1959.
Prior to his ascension to the throne, he was a successful businessman who lived most parts of his life in Lagos.
His remains will be buried today in Okene according to the Islamic rites.
