Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has given approval for the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to be moved to Lagos.
FAAN headquarters is currently in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
A memo signed by the Managing Director of FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku, and dated January 15, 2024 announced the development.
The memo reads: “The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development has directed that the Headquarters of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) should be relocated from Abuja to Lagos.
”Consequent upon the above, you are requested to provide the implication of the relocation to the management.”
This followed a decision by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to transfer some of its departments from Abuja to Lagos State.
According to an internal memo, the departments affected include banking supervision; other financial institutions supervision; consumer protection; payment system management, and financial policy regulations.
