A 16-year old boy, Damilola Kolawole, has been refused bail by an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The boy, a bricklayer, was charged before the court for alleged robbery with a gun.
On July 27, Damilola Kolawole pleaded for bail which the chief magistrate, Mrs Yetunde Aje-Afunwa, declined. She said he should be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre until August 10 when the Directorate of Public Prosecution would have given its advice.
The Prosecutor, SP Raji Akeem, had argued that Damilola Kolawole committed the failed robbery on May 12 at 12, Abule Folly St., Ibeju Lekki.
He said the defendant and others at large broke into the home of one Promise Ohakwe with the intent to rob him.
The prosecutor said Damilola Kolawole was apprehended by some neighbours.
According to the prosecutor, Damilola Kolawole offence contravened Sections 298, 299, 330 and 307 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
