Bode George also reminded those who left PDP and politicians who joined ADC,  that a “divided house” cannot defeat  Tinubu in 2027.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has said he is surprised that the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, joined the coalition which adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He made his view on the development known recently during an interview on Arise TV News.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Obi is one of the prominent politicians in the newly formed coalition movement whose aim is to wrestle power from  President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Other members of the coalition include former Senate President, David Mark,  former Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and so many others.

While addressing the decision to form a coalition during his chat on Arise, George called on all those who left the PDP to return to the party to brighten their chances in 2027.

He also reminded them and other politicians who have decamped to the ADC, that a “divided house” cannot kick  Tinubu out.

He said, “We were in crisis for quite a while because of the issue of who will sign to INEC but we’ve been able to resolve that…you see the situation in Nigeria now, those who are jumping ship I wish them the best of luck, but people that matter are the electorate.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God. I have no qualms in my mind about PDP not being able to do it.

“Those people who are there [in the ADC], they benefited from this party. Do you disown your father’s house? What are you looking for if not for personal reasons? Self-centredness, selfishness… And when I saw Obi there, I was wondering what he was doing there.

“Which of them had not been part of PDP? I wish them well but I’m advising them, come back let’s work together. You want to kick Bola out in 2027 and you want to divide the house.”
