Bode George, however, urged the PDP to allow all interested candidates to compete for the position of national chairman.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Bode George, has warned former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, not to sue the party.
He gave the advice on Tuesday while featuring as a guest on Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today.’
Earlier, Lamido made an attempt to purchase the PDP’s National Chairmanship forms at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, but the person in charge was nowhere to be found.
Speaking after the failed attempt, the former governor threatened legal action against the main opposition party.
He said, “They (governors) met me in PDP, for God’s sake. All of them met me in PDP. Where were they in 1998 (when the PDP was formed)? Where were they when we fought for the party all through the last 25 years? Don’t bring up issues that are very, very divisive. I don’t want to lose my composure.”
Lamido further vowed, “If I am not able to get the form, I will go to court. Simple.”

Reacting to the threat, George admitted that Lamido has the constitutional right to vie for the position and urged the party to allow all interested candidates to compete.
He, however, cautioned the Jigawa State-born politician against dragging PDP to court, saying he will be punished.
Speaking during the interview, he said: “You want to make the process seamless and non-combative. We’ve done this before, but the party has never told anyone they cannot contest. Governor Sule Lamido has the right to compete.
“He can get the form, fill it, and appear on the convention day. We will vote. That is the practice in our party.
“This party is not owned by any individual. Before taking the party to court, you must exhaust the internal dynamics of the party. If you fail to do that, you can be punished.
“So, he is exercising his rights. But if he goes to court for this, he can be punished. Let him go, nobody will deny him any form, and he can compete.
“The final decision will be by delegates attending the convention, and it will be done openly,”
