Bayelsa-born Blessing Oborududu is set to give Nigeria her first medal in the ongoing Olympics as she qualifies for final of the 68kg wrestling event.

Oboruduru is one of the athletes adopted by Governor Douye Diri under the Adopt-An-Athlete Initiative of the Federal Ministry of Sports. The other is also Bayelsa-born track sensation, Timma Godbless, who could not participate being among Nigeria’s ‘Banned 10’ for not meeting the mandatory pre-Olympics drug test requirement for athletes.
