Bishop Abioye unveils own church in Abuja weeks after retirement from Winners Chapel

Bishop David Abioye has launched a new church following his retirement from Living Faith Church, founded by Bishop David Oyedepo.

Abioye announced the launch of his church via his verified X page, saying Sunday morning services would commence on May 4, 2025.

He wrote: “Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning — 8:00AM.

“It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name.

“Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!.”

Abioye was a former Vice President of Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel.

In October 2024, Living Faith had retired Abioye, a former vice-president alongside Thomas Aremu.

They were retired following a policy review that pegged the mandatory retirement age for leaders at 55.

Aremu was 67 years old while Abioye was 63 at the time of retirement.

Following his retirement, Bishop Abioye had initially launched a non-denominational ministry that held evening services every Sunday.
