Benue Catholic Bishop dies

The Catholic Church in Nigeria has been thrown into mourning following the death of Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala, Benue State, Most Revd Peter Adoboh.

Bishop Adoboh died at the age of 62 after a brief illness.

He passed on at Daughters of Charity Hospital, Abuja in the early hours of February 14, 2020.

His remains have been since brought back to Benue state.

He was appointed the pioneer Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala by Pope (Emeritus) Benedict XVI on December 29, 2012 and installed on February 23, 2013.

Governor Samuel Ortom has commiserated with the Catholic family over his demise.

He described the Bishop as a man of peace who will be remembered for his tireless efforts in bringing peace to relative Sankera – Geo – political zone .

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary ( CPS) Terver Akase, Ortom prayed for the repose of the soul of Bishop Adoboh.
