Ex-England winger, David Beckham has said his former club, Manchester United are too big to miss out on UEFA Champions League (UCL).
The United legend made this known while speaking with CBS, where he admitted that the club’s failure to qualify for the elite competition was “painful”.
This season’s Champions League started on Tuesday and Premier League major contenders such as Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool are participating.

Man United, however, failed to qualify for the competition after finishing outside of the top four of the English league last season.
Erik ten Hag’s side ended up qualifying for the UEFA Europa League, thanks to their FA Cup triumph over city rivals, Man City.
Asked how he felt after his old club failed to qualify for this season’s UCL, Beckham said it was not a pleasant experience.
He said, “It is a little bit painful not seeing United there [Champions League], but they are going through something.
“We are too big to not be back on this stage. So at some point, we have to be.”
