BBNaija organisers confirm Osakioduwa’s claim as season 7 auditioning starts

The organisers of one of the biggest reality TV shows in Africa, Big Brother Naija, have opened applications for applicants who intend to be part of the 7th edition of the show.

Popular TV host, IK Osakioduwa, had on Saturday during the eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) announced the BBNaija reality show will be coming back to TV screens soon.

He said: “Applicants get ready, BBNaija season 7 application will be opening soon, ” he said.

The organisers of the show on Sunday followed this up with an official announcement that it has commenced auditioning for the 7th edition of BBNaija via its official Instagram page. 

The announcement read, “Biggie is calling you back home. #BBNaija Season 7 auditions are officially open.

“Are you the next Efe, Miracle, Mercy, Laycon, or Whitemoney? This is your time to show Biggie what you’re all about.”

Contestants are expected to visit the official Big Brother Naija website to signify their intentions to be part of the show. 

BBNaija is arguably the most popular reality show in Africa and many of its housemates went on to become celebrities. 

The first season of the reality show aired in 2006 and was won by Katung Aduwak, while the second one which didn’t take place until 11 years later was won by Delta State-born rapper, Efe Ejeba. 

In 2018, the third season tagged  ‘Double Wahala’ was won by a pilot, Miracle Igbokwe. The show, however, recorded its first female winner in 2019, when video vixen and entrepreneur, Mercy Eke won the ‘Pepper Dem’ edition. 

The fifth season, which was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 was won by another rapper, Olamilekan Agbeleshe, aka Laycon, while Whitemoney defeated Liquorose to win the last edition tagged ‘Shine Ya Eye’ in 2021.
