BBNaija season 6 ‘ Shine Ya Eyes’ edition housemate, Maria Chike, has suggested that she would rather be a baby mama than walk down the aisle with a man because “marriage is a scam”.
Maria made the assertion when she was responding to a follower, who called on the reality TV star’s lover, Kelvin, to ask for her hand in marriage on Twitter.
The fan, identified as @chikesquad, contended that when Kelvin eventually proposes to Maria, a lot of her male admirers will end up in the intensive care units of hospitals.
The fan tweeted on Sunday, “Kelvin should just propose if he has not done that yet. ICUs will flood,”

Reacting to the tweet, Maria suggested that marriage is a scam and she doesn’t want to be a part of such an institution, she is, however, looking forward to having kids soon.
She replied, “I don’t want to get married though. That’s the truth! Marriage is a scam. I do want babies soon though when I am ready.”
The former air hostess, who is currently on vacation in Greece, had earlier announced that her heartthrob added one more destination to her trip in a separate post.
She also advised bloggers to stop publicising her vacation, as it would make her lover consider extending her stay.
“He just added one more destination to this vacay! I’m done, I can’t. My clothes won’t be enough!
“Can you stop carrying me on blogs? The more you do, the more he wants to show me off! Stop it! I need my bed back in Lagos or Dubai.” Maria wrote.
Meanwhile, she recently refuted claims that she snatches people’s husbands in a series of tweets, where she claimed she had been quiet on the issue because she was respecting other people involved.
She wrote, “My Dear Nigerians, I understand we live in such a hypocritical world and everyone is a saint unless you’re in the public eye then your shi* stinks the most. I adore marriage and wish all those in a HAPPY marriage nothing but luck, I love and respect the idea of one man to one woman
“I’m going to address this once and only this once. I’ve been quiet on the whole husband snatcher issue. I DID NOT ruin any home. My silence is for the best of so many people involved. That I haven’t said my piece doesn’t make me weak. I am respecting so many people involved and their privacy.
“ And for the rumours of me sleeping with several married men, including a pastor, WE both laughed at it cause we literally breathe each other’s air day in and day out, and no room for dishonesty.
“When and if I ever start doing “runs” not that I have any intentions of this or knock anyone off their hustle but my man does look after me and my family is also very much okay to look after me and I work my ass off to look after myself. And also if I ever chop breakfast, I’ll chop it with ice cream.”
