Barcelona are preparing to return with a third bid for Spanish midfielder Rodrigo Hernández Cascante, popularly known as Rodri, in an attempt to prise him away from the Etihad Stadium this summer.
This was disclosed on Friday in a post shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to the Italian journalist, the La Liga giants had initially tabled €50m and €60m to Manchester City, but both bids were rejected.
He noted that the new amount proposed by Barça is between the last bid and the €80m demanded by the Premier League outfit.

Taking to his verified handle, Romano wrote:
”Barcelona are returning with third proposal for Rodri to Manchester City.
“After €50m and €60m packages both rejected, direct club to club talks to continue half way between €60m last bid and €80m fee requested.”
He added that “Barça remain confident and optimistic” that the deal will eventually be sealed before the close of the transfer window.
