Bala Mohammed makes case for Christian Southerner to replace Tinubu in 2027, says he wouldn’t mind becoming VP
By Ishaya Ibrahim
Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has stated that the PDP’s decision to zone the presidency to the South was strategic, claiming it would help the party oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) from power in 2027.
He said the arrangement in the PDP would be to field a Christian Southerner as the presidential candidate of the party and use a Muslim in the North as running mate.
When asked about the possibility of his emergence as the PDP vice presidential candidate, he said he wouldn’t mind, but insisted that the decision would have to be the prerogative of the flagbearer.
He said the PDP is currently in talks with former President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Governor of Anambra State Peter Obi to throw their hat in the presidential ring.
On the question of the Federal Capital Territory minister, Nyesom Wike, he said he is no longer his friend, but there’s a ceasefire brokered by leaders of the party for the two of them to sheath their swords.
