Baba-Ahmed insists Tinubu remains a drug dealer, certificate forger

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate, has clarified that showing respect to Bola Tinubu would not stop him from referring to the President as a drug dealer since the Supreme Court avoided dealing with the crime and did not clear him of it.

Baba-Ahmed insisted he would never be impressed or shaken by a man who forged his certificate and forfeited drug money.

Tinubu, 71, helped launder proceeds of drug trafficking in the United States in 1993, over which he forfeited $460,000 to the US government, according to US court documents presented at the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) in Abuja.

The PEPC could not deny the evidence but used legal technicalities to reject it.

The Supreme Court also used legal technicalities to avoid examining – and did not pronounce on – the evidence presented on allegations levelled against Tinubu of identity theft, certificate forgery, and perjury, among others.

Tinubu’s academic records as well as a deposition provided under subpoena by Chicago State University (CSU) disclaimed his certificate from that school which he presented to the Independent National Election Commission (INEC).

Just as him filling in his Southwest College Chicago admission form that he graduated from Government College Lagos in May 1970 is false, because the school was not established until 1974.

The case of certificate forgery alone, if proven in court, would have constitutionally disqualified Tinubu from office.

Baba-Ahmed bared his mind on Arise News after he accompanied LP presidential candidate Peter Obi to a press conference he addressed in Abuja on the judgment of the Supreme Court.

“Showing Tinubu respect does not mean I will not call him a drug dealer,” he said.

“Remove the guns from the hands of Nigerians and redirect them against the enemies of Nigeria; Nigeria must reclaim the country!

“Sovereignty and power belong to the people! Democracy is the right of those who can practice it.”

Tinubu enlarging his media team won’t save his reputation, says Atiku

Tinubu’s latest expansion of his media team with bloated pay when the country is yearning for reduction in the cost of governance will not save his reputation from scandals, Atiku Abubakar has said.

The President enlarged his media team in October and later added Bayo Onanuga as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, increasing the total to at least 21.

Tinubu’s recent appointment of five additional media aides confirms his desperation to salvage what is left of his “drowning reputation,” Atiku insisted in a statement issued through his Media Aide Phrank Shaibu.

He was reacting to reports of the creation of a new Media and Publicity Directorate in the Villa with five employees in early October to manage the media optics of the President.

“Not even a thousand media aides can save the reputation of President Bola Tinubu, which is currently drowning in scandals,” Shaibu said.

The new ones are include:

  • Fela Durotoye – Senior Special Assistant to the President (National Values & Social Justice).
  • Fredrick Nwabufo – Senior Special Assistant to the President (Public Engagement).
  • Linda Akhigbe – Senior Special Assistant to the President (Strategic Communications)
  • Aliyu Audu – Special Assistant to the President (Public Affairs)
  • Francis Abah – Personal Assistant to the President (Special Duties)
  • Tinubu has more media advisers than economic advisers

“I warned on September 18 that the Tinubu government was getting frustrated after being exposed for their many lies and that they would set up a propaganda unit,” Shaibu said.

“Now they have established a media and publicity directorate. This brings to 20 the number of media advisers appointed by Tinubu. In fact, about three of these appointees hold the exact same portfolio.

“We understand the desperation by Tinubu’s government which is currently facing a huge certificate forgery scandal and is about to be drowned by the files that the FBI will release regarding his heroin case in the United States.

“For a government that claims to be focused on fiscal discipline, it has appointed the largest number of non-statutory appointments. Isn’t it ironic that Tinubu has more media advisers than economic aides?

“It is obvious that he plans to use propaganda to rule. No wonder he has held only one cabinet meeting in five months.

“Tinubu and his lackeys must, however, understand that no matter the air freshener you use in spraying excreta, the stench can never go away. No amount of image laundering can save his sinking image.

“His [previous] list of media aides include:

  • “Ajuri Ngelale (Special Adviser Media and Publicity)
  • “Tunde Rahman (SSAP Media)
  • “Tope Ajayi (SSAP Media and Publicity)
  • “Abdulaziz Abdulaziz (SSAP Print Media)
  • “Otega Ogara (SSAP Digital/New Media)
  • “Segun Dada (SAP Social Media)
  • “Nosa Asemota (SAP Visual Communications)
  • “Sunday Moses (PA Videography)
  • “Taiwo Okonlawon (PA State photography)
  • “Moremi Ojudu (SAP, community engagement southwest)
  • “Tanko Yakasai (SAP, community engagement northwest)
  • “Chioma Nweze (SAP, community engagement southeast)
  • “Abiodun Essiet (SAP, community engagement north-central)
  • “Abdulhamid Yahaya Abba (SAP, community engagement northeast)
  • “Emmanuella Eduozor (SAP Multimedia content production)

Propaganda won’t put food on the tables of Nigerians

“This is apart from the Minister of Information and others appointed in the ministry to drive the propaganda.

“With the latest appointment, Tinubu now has over 20 media aides, the highest in the history of Nigeria. But propaganda can only go so far.

“Propaganda cannot put food on the table of the poor; it cannot make their infrastructure better; it cannot solve insecurity, and it definitely cannot bring in circumspect foreign investors.

“They can only like the character, Squealer, in Animal Farm succeed at increasing the quantities of food available to the community only on paper.”
