Atiku meets Jonathan in Abuja
By Jeffrey Agbo
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid a visit to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan at the latter’s residence in Abuja.
The visit on Saturday follows Atiku’s defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku claims that the PDP had deviated from the principles of its founding fathers.
Posting pictures of their meeting on social media Sunday, Atiku wrote, “It was a pleasure catching up with former President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening, following his recent return from Guinea-Bissau.”
The meeting is their first since Jonathan’s return from an election observation mission in Guinea-Bissau.
Jonathan was Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015. He lost his re-election bid in 2015 to Muhammadu Buhari.
