African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has alleged that President Bola Tinubu isn’t the 74-year-old he claims, arguing that he is actually 90 years old.

The former Vice President made this known on Friday during an interview with the BBC, where he also claimed that he could prove his assertion in court.

President Tinubu, who was born in 1952 according to official records, turned 74 on March 29, 2026.

Atiku further defended his repeated presidential bids, citing his anti-military stance, while also stressing that it is his constitutional right to contest.

He went on to blame Nigeria’s insecurity on government irresponsibility, especially in defence and policing, promising to address the issues within one year of taking office.

Speaking during the chat, Atiku said: “You have a President who is 90 years old now and sick, and I am healthy and strong. So why won’t I make myself available to serve my country?

“You went and voted for someone who is 90 years old. I have evidence that President Tinubu is 90 years old, and I will present it in court.”
