Rights activist Omoyele Sowore has described Bola Tinubu as a President with a questionable character and a plethora of questions to answer, insisting that there is no debate about it.
Sowore made the assertion in an interview on ‘State of the Nation’ on LEADERSHIP TV when he responded to a question about how Nigerians could hold their leaders accountable.
“Nigerians must decide who they want to hold accountable by electing people who they can hold accountable,” he said.
His takedown coincides with the ongoing 30 days rant challenge on TikTok embarked upon by youths, mostly females, venting their frustrations about Nigeria, particularly what they call Tinubu’s bad leadership.
It follows the example set earlier this month by Raye (Rita Uguamaye) – a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Lagos – who, in her own seminal rant, described Tinubu as a “terrible President” on the video sharing platform.
“What do you expect from someone that is questionable?” Sowore wondered when LEADERSHIP TV asked for his honest opinion on the state of the nation under Tinubu,
Sowore insisted that his description of Tinubu as a questionable character is “not debatable.”
What about his own past association with Tinubu? he was asked.
Sowore denied ever being close to him during the June 12 struggle, clarifying that a widely circulated photograph showing him with Tinubu and Moshood Abiola was a mere situational necessity at the time, as he does not enjoy associating with politicians.
“I was never close to him. I was only in that picture with him and MKO Abiola because it was necessary at that point. I was not close to him or anyone.”
