Ten years old AthIete, Hephzibah Gabriel thrilled Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) boss Chief Tonobok Okowa, spectators and other dignitaries in the Semi-finals of 4×400 mixed relay on Thursday evening.
After receiving the baton late in the second lap, Hephzibah Gabriel showed strength and determination against much physically gifted sprinters to keep Team Akwa Ibom in the event.
Interestingly, her older sister, another of Mr Gabriel’s three daughters representing Akwa Ibom in athletics also ran the last lap.
Hephzibah Gabriel was invited after the race for a chat with the leadership of Nigeria athletics helmsman which include former AFN President Chief Solomon Ogba with her father who is also her coach.
She had earlier returned 4th in the 1,500 metres final on Wednesday evening.
