Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta is hoping Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham or West Ham can take points off English Premier League (EPL) champions, Man City to boost his side’s chance of winning the title race.

The Spanish tactician, who is yet to give up on the possibility of winning the league this season, made this known while speaking to journalists ahead of Arsenal’s league encounter against high flying Bournemouth.

Despite Man City having one game in hand, the Gunners have secured three consecutive wins in the league, keeping them top of the table, with a one-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s side.

Speaking on the possibility of Arsenal ending their 20 years title drought, Arteta stressed that there are still many points to play for during the final run-in and his team can keep the pressure on by beating Bournemouth in Saturday’s early kick-off at Emirates Stadium.

He went on to say he hopes with his ‘heart and soul’ that Man City will stumble in at least one of their remaining four games.

He further emphasized that in order to maintain their momentum, they need to , prepare, perform and win the next match, regardless of City’s results.

He also acknowledged that managing emotions is equally important in such situations.

Arteta said: “In my heart and in my soul… this is what I am hoping for, yes,” Arteta told reporters when asked if City will drop points.

“You know what is going on [with my emotions]. You just want to win and to win you need others to drop points and you are hoping for that to happen.

“And then [after City win] you have to manage your emotion, because it doesn’t matter what happens on that day.

“There are still a lot of games and points to play for. You are going to have to perform, prepare and win the next match in order to maintain that momentum. This is what we are trying to do.”
