Arsenal defensive midfielder, Thomas Partey, has finally let the cat out of the bag, as he justifies why he opted to change his faith from Christianity to Islam.
Born as a Christian in the Eastern Region of Ghana, the versatile midfielder’s conversion came as a surprise to a lot of his fans, especially his Ghanaian followers.
Revealing why he took the step, Partey said he decided to convert to Islam to please his gorgeous Moroccan girlfriend, Sara Bella, who is a Muslim.

He made the disclosure in a video shared by ace broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah, where he justified his decision, saying there is nothing wrong with it.
In his words, “I have a girl I love, I know my side chics will leave me but it’s no problem… I grew up with Muslims so at the end of the day it is the same thing”.
He went on to say they are already married after he was asked when he intends to walk the beautiful Moroccan down the aisle. He also revealed he has taken up a Muslim name.
He said, “I am already married and my Muslim name is Yakubu.”
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old Partey was recently installed as a development chief in his hometown of Odumase Krobo, Ghana.
At a short ceremony last week, the former Atletico Madrid star was conferred with the title of ‘Mahefalor’, which means defender of the area.
