Arsenal get injury boost as Saka targets facing Chelsea

Saka will be rested for Arsenal’s Europa League fixture against FC Zurich on Thursday, but could be involved at Stamford Bridge at the weekend

Arsenal striker, Bukayo Saka, could make a quick recovery for the London derby against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

According to the UK Sun, the Gunners are optimistic the 21-year-old England international’s injury is not as serious as originally feared.  

Saka provided the assist for the 5th-minute opener by Gabriel Martinelli when Arsenal thrashed Nottingham Forest 5-0 at the Emirates but was forced off inside half an hour.

After initially receiving treatment on the pitch following a heavy challenge from Renan Lodi, he was brought off 10 minutes later.

Saka headed straight down the tunnel, with his replacement Reiss Nelson going on to score twice in the second half.

There was an encouragement as the England star left the Emirates without needing crutches or a protective boot.
