Climate Champions are committed to integrating and delivering on the plan for COP27 and beyond

By Eugene Onyeji

Following the events of COP26 in Glasgow, Race to Zero and Race to Resilience is hosting a 9-month Climate Champions Youth Fellowship in 2022.

This is a paid fellowship programme, an opportunity for interested Nigerian youth to earn additional income from the comfort of their homes.

After the success of their pilot Fellowship program in 2021, the aim of the 2022 Fellowship is to further drive ambitious climate action by creating a team of early career professionals eager to advocate for their communities.

This fellowship — led by the High Level Climate Champions team — will provide a platform for young people to work with the Champions and to contribute to our work on driving ambitious climate action. Fellows will join the High Level Climate Champions Team for a nine month fellowship in the following sectors — energy, finance, food and agriculture, oceans, communications, transport and climate resilience.

The fellowship will include modules on leadership development, engagement with business, NGO and/or policy leaders, mobilisation and outreach in broader networks, opportunity for the fellows to work together as a collective and a personal capstone project.

Selected applicants will be expected to commit up to 16 hours per week. The program will run from April to December 2022.
