Apostolic Faith minister Ayodele Femi Famewo dies at 77

The family of Arch. Ayodele Femi Famewo, a cleric and minister of the Apostolic Faith Church in Akure, Ondo State, has announced the final funeral rites for the late church minister, who died at the age of 77.

Famewo, who was born in 1949, was described by his family as a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of God and humanity.

The family, in a funeral announcement, said the final rites would commence with a Service of Songs scheduled for November 26, 2026, at the Apostolic Faith Church, Ijoka, Akure, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The funeral service will follow on November 27, 2026, at the same church. The programme will feature the lying-in-state from 8:00 a.m., followed by the church service at 10:00 a.m.

The funeral arrangements also indicate that the reception will take place at St. Thomas Hall, Ondo Road, Akure.

The family urged friends, colleagues, church members and associates of the deceased to join them in celebrating a life they described as well spent.

The funeral organisers said the colour code for the wake is all white, while mourners attending the burial are expected to wear a touch of purple.

Famewo’s final rites are expected to bring together members of the Apostolic Faith Church, family members, friends and associates to honour his memory and reflect on his years of Christian service.

The family, while expressing gratitude to God for his life, said his memory would remain cherished, declaring: “Forever in our hearts. Until we meet again.”
