APC chairman dies in Bauchi hotel room days after receiving death threats

According to the report, Gwabba was reportedly found dead in a hotel room on Saturday morning in Bauchi, the capital of the state.

The Police in Bauchi have begun investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of the chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Husseini Musa Gwabba.

Reporting by Sahara Reporters say the police confirmed the murder of Gwabba and have ordered an autopsy to be carried out on him to unravel the cause of his death.

According to the report, Gwabba was reportedly found dead in a hotel room on Saturday morning in Bauchi, the capital of the state.

The newspaper says before his death, Gwabba was said to have received several death threats from some high-ranking members of the party who saw his emergence as a threat to their survival in the party, the police said.

The police spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, was quoted in the report saying that “a thorough autopsy will be conducted on the body of the deceased to ascertain the cause of his death.

“The result of the autopsy as being awaited will be made public, please.

“Three suspects have been arrested in connection to the death of Gwabba and are being interrogated by the police,” he said.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries begins this week to elect flag bearers for various elective offices. The primaries begin with State House of Assembly election on Wednesday, May 18, to be followed by House of Reps contest, then Senate, then Governorship and Finally the presidential.
