To say that the popular Otedola Bridge at the Berger Area of Lagos has become notorious for tanker explosions is to say the obvious.
In the last two years, tankers transporting petrol have exploded at the bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway resulting in the loss of lives and property worth millions of naira.
The latest tragedy occurred in the early hours of today when two fuel tankers again exploded on the Bridge in Lagos.
The explosion reportedly occurred around 2 am.
The casualty figure is not yet known.
However, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency via its twitter handle said it has responded to distress calls from the area.
“The Agency has responded to the distress calls concerning a tanker on fire at Berger along the Lagos Ibadan Expressway,” it tweeted.
