Another Kebbi pilgrim dies while observing Hajj in Makkah

Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board said the deceased who hails from Gulma in Argungu Local Government Area died following a brief illness

A Kebbi pilgrim identified as Abubakar Abdullahi has died while observing this year’s Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

His death was disclosed in a statement released by the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Sunday.

According to the Kebbi Hajj 2024 Media Team, the deceased who hails from Gulma in Argungu Local Government Area died following a brief illness.

Addressing newsmen via the statement, the Executive Chairman of the board, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu-Enabo, said Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris expressed sorrow over the death.

He added, “The governor also urged the immediate family of the deceased, friends and Kebbi pilgrims to take heart and accept the will of God Almighty in good faith.”

He went on to say the deceased was buried according to Islamic rites after his funeral prayer at Masjid Al-Ihram (Ka’aba) on Friday.

Aliyu-Enabo also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

Prior to Abdullahi’s death, another Kebbi pilgrim, Tawalkatu Busare Alako from Jega Local Government Area of the state had died after a brief illness.

The death of the two Kebbi pilgrims and that of a Lagos pilgrim, Oloshogbo Idris, who gave up the ghost in Makkah shortly after returning from the circumambulation of the Holy Kaaba on May 28, has brought to fore the need to take the health of pilgrims seriously.

However, TheNiche, learnt from a reliable source that some Muslims desire to breath their last while undertaking Hajj in Makkah.
