Another building collapses in Abuja

Another building has collapsed in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
This time it was in the Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
Rescue operations are already underway at the scene with men of the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service conducting rescue operations, and battling to reach anyone trapped in the rubble, while three ambulances have also been stationed at the location.
The incident occurred around 8pm on Monday.
The FCT Administration’s Development Control Department had earlier sealed the building and directed its occupants to vacate the premises.
The circumstances surrounding the collapse and whether there are casualties are yet to be confirmed.
But the development has again drawn attention to the safety of ageing and distressed buildings within the city, particularly structures that had earlier been flagged by regulatory authorities.
