Late Annie Okonkwo paid his dues – Soludo

Soludo, on behalf of the Anambra people and government, commiserated with the family and friends of Okonkwo over this painful loss.

Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo has expressed sadness over the death of former Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Annie Okonkwo, popularly known as Okaka Ojoto.

Okonkwo, sources said, died in the United States after a long battle with a terminal illness. The deceased, who was a foremost industrialist, recently celebrated his 63rd birthday on May 23, 2023.

In a statement on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo noted that as a prominent son of Anambra State who hails from Ojoto in Idemili South Local Government Area of the State, the late Senator Okonkwo has paid his own dues trying to serve the state.

Soludo, on behalf of Anambra State Government and the entire people of the state, commiserated with the family and friends of Okonkwo over this painful loss.

The governor further prayed that God may grant his soul eternal rest and the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

His death is coming a few days before the inauguration ceremony of his son, Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, who is the House of Representatives member-elect for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency of the state.
