According to Sadiq, who was released with six others, it was a big relief for him to be home with my family after a 104-day ordeal at the hands of the dreaded kidnappers.

The kidnap victim, after thanking his family, friends, and well-wishers for their prayer and wishes via a tweet on Wednesday, June 13, said those still in captivity include aged women and children, some of whom are younger than 10 years.

He, however, describes his sense of relief as a temporary one, because he is constantly reminded that there are still several others hoping to be rescued.

He said, ”Alhamdulillah. I regained freedom after 104 days in captivity. I thank the many people out there, family, friends, and well-wishers that prayed and wished for my safe return during these trying times.

”Indeed it is a big relief to be home with my family, but I am afraid that relief is temporary knowing I left 43 others, including aged women and children below the age of 10, that are still in captivity waiting and hoping to be rescued,”

Sadiq later called on the Federal Government to help in securing the release of other victims that are still in captivity.

“I am once again calling on the Federal Government and all Nigerians to help secure the release of the remaining victims,” he added.
