One of the youngest and most controversial housemate of this year’s Big Bother Nigeria TV reality show, Angel, has opened up that her boy friend died of mental health related issues.

She had earlier given the impression that he was alive, as she once told Biggie in her diary session that she doesn’t know, if he would take her back after the show.

She however disclosed on a Facebook Live interview with Punch Online, that his death was mental health related, but avoided getting into details.

She also encouraged people, especially men to talk about problems relating to their mental health, whenever the need arises.

“It is really important to speak out if you are going through anything whatsoever. I think people find a weakness in vulnerability and I used to be like that; I thought that if I was vulnerable it somehow made me weak. It is especially harder for men because there’s a lot of toxic masculinity.” Angel said.

When asked how she coped with the death of her boyfriend, she replied saying: “Dealing with grief is not a one-way street; there are days you will feel okay, and there are days you don’t want to get up from your bed and want to be left alone. It is a lot of emotions. I was able to recover because I was grateful for the time I spent with him.”

The revelation will come as a surprise to a lot of her fellow ex-housemates and fans of the show, whom she told on countless occasions that they only stopped dating because she was coming on the show.
