Ezenwafor said he was on his way home from an appointment when the gunmen attacked him.

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the forthcoming Anambra State election, Jude Ezenwafor, has escaped assassination attempt on his life.
He made this known on Saturday in Abuja while briefing journalists on the incident.
According to the gubernatorial candidate, he was attacked and shot by gunmen on Friday night while he was in Wuse 2 area.
He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Abuja, where doctors are preparing to remove bullets from his body through surgery.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Ezenwafor described the incident as a near-death experience.
He also said he was on his way home from an appointment when the gunmen attacked him.
He said, “I’m currently in the hospital. The doctors are making efforts to operate on me to remove the bullets.”
Ezenwafor added that two other people who were with him during the attack were also shot.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will conduct the 2025 Anambra State Governorship election on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
