World record holder and reigning 100m hurdles champion, Tobi Amusan has accused the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, (AFN) of providing inferior kits for athletes representing the country at 2025 World Athletics Championship.

She made her feelings known on Friday night in a video she uploaded on her official social media page.

In the now viral clip, Amusan was seen unboxing the kits she received from the AFN ahead of the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

According to her, the training and performance outfits are inferior and inadequate.

She went on to compare them to top quality training and racing kits received by athletes from other countries.

“I will show you what Jamaica did for its athletes. When I tell you that Jamaica is in the same WhatsApp group as Nigeria, but they are not as bad as Nigeria.

“For instance, all the other countries gave their athletes two kits for this competition.

“But Nigeria brought inadequate and inferior kits. This country (Nigeria Athletics Federation) is really embarrassing.”

After the clip made the rounds online, it elicited mixed reactions among Nigerians.

While many netizens hailed her action, a few others argued that Amusan shouldn’t have brought it to the public domain.
