Amusan comes second at Lausanne Diamond League

Amusan finished in 2nd position behind Puerto Rico’s Camacho-Quinn who won the race with a time of 12.40s

Nigeria’s hurdler and world record holder, Tobi Amusan finished second behind Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in the 100m hurdles event at the 2023 Lausanne Diamond League on Friday, June 30. 

Her fierce rival, Camacho-Quinn won the keenly contested race with a time of 12.40s.

Amusan on her part clocked a time of 12.47s equaling her personal best for the season in the process.

Coming third behind the duo is American hurdler, Tia Jones, who ran a time of 12.51s.

Just 72 hours earlier in Ostrava, the trio of Amusan, Camacho-Quinn, and Jones were also in action at the World Continental meeting where the Puerto Rican carried the day.

However, while Jones finished ahead of Amusan in Ostrava, the reverse was the case for Lausanne on Friday.

The trio will once again battle in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday.

Amusan will be hoping to hit top form before defending her title at the World Athletics Championship later this year in Budapest, Hungary.
