Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has claimed his team were better than Arsenal and deserved to win Sunday’s League encounter at Old Trafford.
He made this known while speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live after the highly anticipated encounter.
The Red Devils opened their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 loss to Mikel Arteta’s side.
Riccardo Calafiori scored the only goal of the match in the first half.

While reviewing the game, Amorim said, “It was really hard because I think we showed that we were the better team today. We played better than Arsenal.
“A strange goal, but then we tried everything to score a goal. We have small things that will make a difference in the future. The defence felt a different team and that is a good thing, but we need to win games.
“I am proud of the players. I said so many times that the players need to adapt.
“Intensity, the way they are sprinting. They fought for every duel. They were so brave playing one against one. They were really brave, and I am happy with that.”
He went on to praise new recruits, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, despite his team’s narrow defeat.
He also admitted there were areas his team must improve but insisted they did many things right.
“In certain moments I think Bryan [Mbeumo] and Cunha helped a lot. We stuck to the plan even when the stadium is nervous, we continued to play the way we played and that will help us in the future.” Amorim added.
