The Fennecs of Algeria ensured they secured a point against Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their final group game at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Despite this, Justine Madugu’s side finished top of Group B with seven points from three matches.
Nigeria dominated possession throughout the encounter, but the Algerians stood firm at the back.

Ifeoma Onumonu and Jennifer Echegini came close to opening the scoring for Nigeria in the first half but they were denied the lead by a combination of good goalkeeping and poor marksmanship.
The Super Falcons also struggled to create scoring chances in the second half, ending the game 0-0.
The nine-time champions after topping their group will now face the Copper Queens of Zambia in the quarter-finals on Friday.
