The Ondo state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed not to take less than what the Federal government has agreed to pay federal employees.

The State Chairman of the Union, Sunday Adeleye who spoke with TheNiche yesterday in Akure, noted that the government must be prepared to adopt the formula agreed on by the Federal Government for the payment of the new minimum wage.

According to him, the union had written to the state government on the issue.

“The last time I checked, the government did not tell us that they had low financial income. So, we are not going lower than what the Federal Government has agreed and our governor has not said the state does not have money to pay,” he said.

In his reaction, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Donald Ojogo, said the state government had set up a committee on the payment of the new minimum wage.
