Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), has promised to focus on the establishment of sea port in the state in his second term.

Akeredolu at the weekend defeated 16 other candidates to emerge the winner of the gubernatorial election conducted in the state.

He won 15 local government areas in the election, a figure that represents 49 percent of the total accredited votes in the state.

This figure is a bit higher than what obtained in 2016 when he won 14 local government areas representing 42 percent of the total accredited votes.

In an interview monitored on Channelstv after he was declared as the winner, he wondered why the project had been neglected by previous administrations.

According to him, the state has the longest coastline in Nigeria, stressing that it deserves to be linked with the global business through the sea.

Recall that the Olokola deep sea port has been proposed several times by the state but without success.

But when asked what is going to be his major focus in his second term in office, he stated that he would develop the seaport in the state to connect the state with global business communities.
