Aiyedatiwa maintained that the alleged impeachment plot exists only in the imaginations of political opponents.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has refuted allegations that he is plotting to impeach his deputy, Olayide Adelami, stressing that as a ‘prophet’, he is incapable of such an act.
He made this known on Friday during the inauguration of the newly completed Ayegunle-Iwaro Oka road in the Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.
Recently, political discussions across Ondo State have centred on speculation suggesting a rift has developed between the governor and his deputy.
The rumours, which first surfaced last year, alleged that certain members of the House of Assembly were making moves to impeach the deputy governor.

The supposed impeachment agenda was reportedly tied to an internal ‘power tussle’ among political interests in Owo Local Government, the deputy governor’s hometown, as well as tensions involving the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Omowunmi Isaacs, who is said to be an ally of the governor.
However, while speaking during the commissioning of the newly constructed road, Aiyedatiwa dismissed suggestions of discord between him and the deputy governor.
He maintained that the alleged impeachment scheme exists only in the imaginations of political opponents bent on stirring unrest within his administration.
“Mr Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, I acknowledge your presence here. Thank you for holding the fort for me yesterday when I had to travel,” the Governor said.
“Worthy, amiable Deputy Governor. Some people are spreading a fake video. Those people want to hear words.
“They claim they want to remove the deputy governor. From where? Where do they want to remove him from? Don’t answer them, please; they are only looking for relevance. That cannot happen because I am also a prophet of God.”
