Aiyedatiwa appoints commissioner, 3 advisers, 1,000 aides

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of one commissioner, three special advisers, 90 senior special assistants and 910 special assistants as part of measures to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, were contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.

According to the statement, Erelu Taibat Yemi Oloruntoba from Akoko North-West Local Government Area has been nominated as Commissioner for Special Duties.

Her name has been forwarded to the Ondo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

Adeniyan said the appointments were aimed at strengthening the administration’s capacity to deliver on its programmes and bring government closer to the people.

The three newly appointed Special Advisers are Hon. Abimbola Fajolu from Ileoluji-Okeigbo Local Government Area, who will oversee Environment; Chief Ade Adeniyi from Ondo West Local Government Area, appointed Special Adviser on Rural and Community Development; and Mr. Muyiwa Ogunyemi from Akoko North-East Local Government Area, who will serve as Special Adviser on Transport.

Among the 90 Senior Special Assistants appointed are Erelu Toyin Ogungbure, SSA Women Mobilisation (South); Bidemi Obayangbon, SSA Forestry; Gboluge Olufunmi Alex, SSA Community Engagement (South); Hon. Akin Adeniyi, SSA Community Engagement (Central); and Obayan Theophilus Ayodeji, SSA Community Engagement (North).

Others include Kelvin Solomon, SSA Students Affairs; Adeolu Iwakun, SSA Volunteer Services; Samson Job Bazuaye, SSA Oil and Gas; Fade Ojamomi, SAN, SSA Youth Empowerment and Job Creation; and Sam Adepoju, SSA Public Engagement.

Also appointed are Alhaji Samad Orijeminiyi, SSA Scholarship; Mr. Victor Omodara, SSA Grassroots Mobilisation; Abayomi Adefolalu, SSA Photography; Alhaji Abdukadiri Adenoyi, SSA Non-Indigenes; Prince Nzuoma Egbulefu, SSA Non-Indigenes; and Alhaji Garba Goni, SSA Non-Indigenes.

The government said the appointments cut across key sectors and areas of public engagement, reflecting the administration’s effort to deepen grassroots participation and enhance the effectiveness of governance.

The full list of the newly appointed Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants is expected to be released later.

The appointments are the latest in the Aiyedatiwa administration’s efforts to expand its governance structure and strengthen its reach across the state’s 18 local government areas.

The Chief Press Secretary said all the appointments take immediate effect.
