Yesufu, however, hailed Obi for going to court to prove his innocence instead of using state machinery against Adeyanju.

Activist and co-founder of #BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has urged human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju to provide Nigerians with proof that Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi is fraudulent, adding that she’ll withdraw her support for him if he is able to do so.
She threw the challenge at the Abuja based lawyer in a post she shared on her X page on Friday night.
On more than one occasion, Adeyanju has claimed Obi is fraudulent, stressing that he has evidence to prove he is not who he claims to be.
He had also called the former Anambra Governor a manipulator and religious bigot in a recent outburst.
Obi in his part, has already dragged Adeyanju to court to provide evidence of his alleged fraudulent activities.
Reacting to the development, Aisha Yesufu, who is a strong supporter of Obi, hailed him for approaching the court instead of using state machinery against his accuser.
She added that the case will offer her and millions of other followers of the LP chieftain the opportunity to access Adeyanju’s evidence and know whether to continue to support him or not.
Speaking via her verified social media page, Yesufu wrote, “Barrister Deji Adeyanju @adeyanjudeji has repeatedly said that he has evidence to show that Mr Peter Obi @PeterObi is a fraud and that Mr Peter Obi should sue him. This is a lawyer speaking!
“As a supporter of Mr Peter Obi, I am interested in the evidence the Barrister has. I would not be one to give support to anyone that is fraudulent so this case will offer me and millions of others the opportunity to have access to the evidence Barrister Deji has so we know whether to continue our support for Mr Peter Obi or withdraw it.
“Mr Peter Obi going to court is the civil thing to do. Where one is defamed especially from a LAWYER, then one should go to court.
“If Mr Peter Obi had used machinery of the State to get Barrister Deji arrested and thrown into jail like many of the dictators we fight are doing then I would be leading a #FreeDejiAdeyanju and calling out Mr Peter Obi!
“As for now, #LetsHaveTheEvidence!”
Adeyanju’s claim elicited mixed reactions among Nigerians, while some are curious to know if it’s true or not, others argued he is being sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
