Human rights activist and co-founder of the BringBackOurGirls campaign, Aisha Yesufu, has recommended capital punishment for election riggers.
She gave the advice on Friday in a trending post on her official X page.
Her comment comes after Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, warned those planning to rig elections in his state that there will be consequences.
The governor was reacting to a question from a journalist concerning a recent statement credited to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who claimed his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will take over the rulership of Abia in 2027.

Responding, Otti said, “I have heard that some people around him say oh, they must take over this State, they must write results but the only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time.
“You know what it is? Their will.”
While throwing her weight behind the governor, Yesufu said election riggers should be treated as terrorists.
She wrote, “You see that thing that is reported that Alex Otti said ‘anybody planning to rig election should first write their will’, is the mentality Nigerians should have!
“I have repeatedly said anyone that rigs election should be treated as a terrorist.”
