Air Peace raises check-in baggage allowance

Air Peace Limited has increased its check-in baggage allowance for domestic flights, reinforcing its customer-focused approach to service delivery.

Effective 14 April 2026, passengers travelling across all domestic routes are now entitled to 20kg of checked baggage, up from the previous 15kg.

In a statement, the airline made it clear that the adjustment directly reflects passenger feedback and its commitment to continuous improvement.

The policy shift has been positively received, with passengers acknowledging the airline’s responsiveness and willingness to act decisively on customer input.

Founded in 2013 by Nigerian entrepreneur Dr. Allen Onyema, Air Peace was established to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable air travel while advancing regional connectivity. From its Lagos base, the airline has expanded aggressively across domestic, regional, and international markets.

Today, Air Peace stands as one of West Africa’s largest carriers, operating a diverse fleet and serving destinations across Nigeria, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Beyond commercial operations, it has earned recognition for humanitarian interventions, including evacuation missions during crises.

Further underscoring its industry standing, Air Peace was recently named Best West Africa Sub-Regional Airline of the Year at the 2026 Nigerian Aviation (NIGAV) Awards—its second consecutive win in the category.

Announced at the NIGAV Conference Centre in Ikeja, Lagos, the award highlights the airline’s sustained performance in operational efficiency, route expansion, and regional connectivity.

According to the airline’s spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the recognition reflects growing confidence in Air Peace’s ability to deliver safe, reliable, and customer-driven services.

He described the award as “a clear validation of our strategic focus on strengthening intra-African connectivity and enhancing passenger experience,” adding that the airline remains committed to bridging cities, driving economic integration, and raising the standard of air travel across West Africa.

“With a growing network and continued investment in fleet modernisation and service delivery, Air Peace is consolidating its position as a dominant force in regional aviation and shaping the future of air travel across West Africa.”
