DJ Switch came into greater limelight due to her role in the EndSARs protest which rocked the country in October last year and was reported to have left the country for Canada because she feared her life was in Danger.

In a rebuttal posted on her Instagram page, she debunked these claims and urged writers to verify their claims before spreading news, as unverified stories have tendencies to malign people.

“But let me say this… news outlets and bloggers, I know traffic is the game but when you don’t really investigate properly and run with things that you don’t know for sure or have verified, you sincerely hurt and, in some cases, cause serious complications for people in ‘real life’.

“I’ve been cooked up in a house for months. I never got asylum in Canada. I didn’t even step foot into Canada. I didn’t even speak to anyone who claimed they spoke to me on the issue. Anyways, I will leave it there. By the way, it is now that I am traveling… and not to Canada! Love!” she said.

DJ Switch rose to prominence after emerging the winner of the first edition of Glo X Factor in 2013. She also championed entertainers online performances during Covid-19 lockdown in March 2020.
