African Wrestling Championship: Flag hoisting ceremony holds in Port Harcourt

The flags of the participating countries for the African Wrestling Championship, Port Harcourt 2018, have been officially hoisted in a ceremony witnessed by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Police Officers from the Rivers State Police Command, after a colourful parade, hoisted the flags following the directive of Gtovernor Wike.
In his address, Wike assured all participating countries of their security and the right environment to compete.
The governor said that Rivers State would not disappoint Africa as it would host a memorable wrestling championship.
He stated that the state was prepared in all the aspects of the championship. He assured that areas with deficiencies would be upgraded.
President of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation, Mr Daniel Igali, commended Governor Wike for his commitment to the successful hosting of the African Wrestling Championship.
Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Boma Iyaye, said that the local organizing committee was putting finishing touches for the championship.
Wrestlers and officials are expected to arrive the state on Monday for the event, which will start on February 7, 2018.
