Victor Okorie and Ladan Abubakar Zurhi have emerged as winners of the AFN Zonal Elections for the South East and North West Zones, respectively, in Abuja today.
The two candidates were required to participate in a rerun after the initial poll was appealed.
Okorie, from Abia state, won with 4 votes, while Zurhi, from Zamfara State, representing the North West Zone, defeated Sunday Adeleye with 6 votes to 1. As a result, Okorie and Zurhi will join the other elected board members tomorrow to elect the president of the federation.
Furthermore, the election for Coaches/NAATO, originally scheduled for Wednesday, was cancelled and will now take place on Thursday at 8 am.
The election will be between Solomon Aliu and Professor Ogunjimi, preceding the election of the AFN president tomorrow in Abuja
