Adeyemi says picking Germany over Nigeria was a difficult decision

Adeyemi since making the decision has made six appearances for Germany with one goal to his name.

Borussia Dortmund winger, Karim Adeyemi has said his decision to represent Germany instead of Nigeria was a difficult decision. 

The former Red Bull Salzburg player made this known recently while speaking with Oma Sports.

Adeyemi was born in Munich, Germany to a Nigerian father and Romanian mother.

The 23-year-old was therefore eligible to represent Nigeria, Germany and Romania.

He, however, decided to pick Germany over the two other countries.

Speaking on the decision, Adeyemi said he had to rationalize not playing for the Super Eagles to his father several times. 

He said, “It’s a difficult question. I have to answer this to my father a lot of times.

“It’s just like this, I have offers from Germany [Football Association], I had a good feeling there. And, at the end, I had to play for Germany. This is how easy it is.”

He has since making he decision made six appearances for Germany with one goal to his name.
