“It’s neither a party of Muslims nor of Christians. It’s neither a party for old people, so it’s a party that is deliberately designed to develop and build the kind of future that Nigeria desires” – ADC spokesman Abdullahi.

Accusation that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is acting a Northern script in its quest to sack and replace Bola Tinubu in 2027 has been denied by the coalition, even as Villa spokesperson Bayo Onanuga alleges that the North has banded against  Tinubu because he is from the South, not because of his obvious failings as President.

Interim ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi dismissed the charge that the party is working for the interest of the North in his rebuttal on Channels Television.

He spoke in reaction to the claim by ADC 2023 presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu that the opposition coalition flying on the wings of the ADC is pursuing a Northern agenda and plotting to return power to the North without allowing the South to serve out eight years as the North did under Muhammadu Buhari.

Abdullahi described the allegation as unfounded, and said Kachikwu should be ashamed of himself for making it.

He cited some key ADC members from the South which he said reflects the national spread of the coalition, insisting that Tinubu and his agents are trying to cause division, of which the party is aware and working to counter.

“ADC is a party, and we said this from day one, it’s neither a party of the North nor of the South.

“It’s neither a party of Muslims nor of Christians. It’s neither a party for old people, so it’s a party that is deliberately designed to develop and build the kind of future that Nigeria desires,” Abdullahi reiterated.
