More than 75,000 new members have been registered across Zamfara in the North West in the push by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to bolster its momentum, the party has claimed.

Zamfara ADC Chairman Kabiru Garba, who disclosed this at a “Hand Shake Day” held at Maryam Hall in Gusau, attributed the increase in membership to the party’s “strong vision and widespread dissatisfaction” with governance in the state.

“We are preparing for the 2027 election, we see a brighter future, many people are now registering with our party day in day out. As of today, we have registered no fewer than 75,000 new members into Zamfara ADC and hopefully to register 100,000 new members in the state,” he enthused.

Garba voiced concern over insecurity plaguing the state, knocking Governor Dauda Lawal for his “failure” to safeguard lives and property.

“The insecurity bedeviling the state is something to worry about; it’s high time for Governor Dauda Lawal to provide lasting solutions to the insecurity in the state, otherwise he should step down.

“The Governor of Zamfara State and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should wake up from their slumber, provide security, and protect the lives and properties of citizens.

“ADC is worried about Zamfara insecurity, we condemn the incessant attacks and urge the Governor to negotiate with bandits and allow peace to reign.

“We have seen a brighter future in Zamfara. God willing, our party will capture Zamfara and Nigeria in 2027 because of the good and promising manifesto of ADC for the citizens of Nigeria.”
