Nollywood actress Chukwukere Sarah Ujunwa, popularly known as Sarah Martins has reportedly suffered burns after a clash with Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) officers during a charity outreach in Lekki, Lagos.

According to reports, Martins who is a 35-year-old and founder of the Golden Heart Foundation was preparing free hot meals for homeless people on a roadside when KAI officers arrived and allegedly seized her cooking equipment. The confrontation reportedly led to hot oil to spilling and burning her hands.
Officials claimed the intervention was to enforce hygiene and traffic regulations, but Martins accused them of harassment and said her equipment was confiscated. In a social media post, she wrote that she was only “serving love on a plate through healthy meals” and not selling food.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online.
One X (Twitter) user, @blaccmajek, criticized the location of her charity cooking, saying, “She should do her cooking at home and bring the food there. I don’t think cooking in the middle of the road is okay.”
Another, @AnthoniaUmoke, agreed, commenting, “Is it just me that feels she was wrong by doing that in the middle of the road? I get what she is doing is a very nice gesture but doing it in the middle of the road???”
However, others defended Martins. @FrannyOD wrote, “She didn’t block the road or traffic to cook, everything was done by the side. Plus there are better ways to resolve this if she was breaking the law than the way the uniform men attacked her.”
Authorities have not released an official statement beyond confirming that KAI officers acted to enforce city regulations.
